A big thank you to Collective Hub for featuring my rose gold heart necklace for the Heart Foundation in their latest issue!
‘From the Heart’ aims to raise awareness and funds to assist in the prevention, treatment and care of heart disease in females – the number one killer of Australian women. Thank you Lisa Messenger and the Collective Hub for talking about women’s hearts and helping us make this invisible disease, visible.
The collection is inspired by the ideas of connection, support and balance – three things that helped me go from struggle to strength in my own health journey. In my early 20’s, on two separate occasions, I was diagnosed with multiple blood clots in my lungs (pulmonary emboli). My health issue were triggered by a combination of an underlying genetic blood clotting conditions and taking the oral contraceptive pill. As a result, I am on blood thinners for life.
Years on from these complications, I feel a responsibility to share my story, connect with others, and give those around me a sense of awareness and hope for future wellness.
Cardiovascular disease is the single biggest killer of Australian women and is currently claiming the lives of 20 Australian women per day, affecting women of all ages in many different forms. With this collection of jewellery, I hope to educate women about the importance of their own cardiovascular health and remind them of the risk factors associated with cardiovascular disease. I also hope to bring light and positivity to those that have been personally touched by heart disease.
