The final story in the NEPTUNE collection is the Sea Grape story. This particular story was inspired by time spent on the NSW South Coast walking along tide lines, paying attention to interesting shadows, glistening seaweed fronds, sea grapes such as Neptunes Necklace (pictured below) and other washed-up specimens. These scenes inspired me to play with specially sourced Australian gemstones, exploring contrast, form and the colour green.

Pieces in the Sea Grape series reflect the smooth, bright bubble of a sea grape, bursting with life. Australian chrysoprase cabochons and custom cut Chrysoprase slices meet Australian sapphires and golden granules in organic forms, reminiscent of the textures of the shoreline.

In this place, layers of matter that come from different sources all find harmony in a shared landing place.
