As a jeweller, I’ve handled countless gemstones, but every now and then one crosses my path that stops me in my tracks.

I have recently been given the honour of working with this Australian sapphire sourced by Nina Cueva, gemstone curator of Courtesy of the Artist in the Strand Arcade who has a reputation for finding the extraordinary. This sapphire is a rarity—at 4.23 carats, its certified true teal colour is uncommon among unheated Australian sapphires. The clean lines and perfect facets of the cut highlight the stone’s depth and clarity, giving it an almost architectural precision.
