And here is the finished piece! Taking something as rare as this Australian sapphire (which I wrote about in a previous post) and transforming it into a piece that holds meaning beyond its physical form has been truly special.

A bit about the design. This engagement ring was crafted out of platinum; its cool tone providing a perfect complement to the colour of the sapphire. On either side of the sapphire, I incorporated two bright white baguette diamonds, which offer a geometric counterpoint to the sapphire’s emerald cut without drawing focus away from the centrepiece.

What a journey this ring has been on! It carries the story of the sapphire’s origin, of Nina Cueva’s eye in sourcing it, the collaborative process with my wonderful clients, my hands in designing and bringing it to life, and finally presenting it to my clients. For me, the most special part is the emotional bond that forms during this process—the trust my clients place in me, the shared vision we build together, and the joy of seeing their reaction when they first see the piece that represents such a significant moment in their lives.
