/  Spotlight on Australian Chrysoprase

Australian Chrysoprase, particularly the stones from the renowned Marlborough mines in Central Queensland, holds a special place in my design work. Known for its gorgeous green colour, this gemstone is one of the rarest and most highly prized varieties of chalcedony.

Chrysoprase comes in a range of hues, from vibrant apple-green and rich forest green to those with a subtle translucency. It is this varied colour palette that makes chrysoprase a beautiful choice for capturing natures dynamic beauty in my work.

In my Neptune collection, Australian Chrysoprase was the hero in the Sea Grape story – symbolising the smooth, bright bubble of sea grapes and bringing to life the fluid forms of Neptune’s necklace. One of the standout pieces in the collection was the Sea Grape Slice earrings (pictured below) which feature stunning chrysoprase slices with soft translucency and moss-like inclusions. This chrysoprase was custom cut in Perth and paired with a cluster of Australian sapphires, creating a truly unique pair of statement earrings.
